Briqueterie Jebal El Ouest, a new challenge for EQUIPCERAMIC, S.A.

Beginning of 2016, the Poulina Group, the most important industrial Group in Tunis with interests in different sectors, at national level as well as at international one, decides to start its activity in the heavy clay sector placing its new brickworks at the forefront of technology.

On this occasion, the customer started technical discussions with all important companies in the heavy clay sector in order to find a supplier able to meet their priorities, mainly focused on building a state-of-the-art factory in terms of technology; but even more important, a factory meeting electricity and energy consumption ratios required by the customer’s technical teams.

After months of discussions and provision of improvements to the project, thanks to the valuable help of the customer’s technicians, EQUIPCERAMIC, S.A.’s project was chosen as the best one and the contract was concluded to the satisfaction of both companies.

Equipceramic projected a factory that falls under the category of high performance factories with a daily output of 1,200 tons of hollow bricks. It consists of two cutting lines to reach contractual production rates and the drying process will be performed in a BARNA dryer to ensure a high quality end product. The firing process will be carried out in a GAUDÍ sealed kiln.

The factory will be equipped with an advanced cogeneration system for a more efficient utilisation of the energy produced during the manufacturing process, this way obtaining significant energy savings.

The large use of sophisticated automated systems in the different areas of the factory is also one of its most outstanding characteristics. Product handling will be entirely automated, mainly based on robotics.

Finally, the project includes a high capacity storage area for end products, provided with a completely automated control and command system by means of a sophisticated bridge crane for the direct loading of dispatch packages on truck or their storage in the yard.

EQUIPCERAMIC will face now a very important challenge that will allow us to move ahead and be able to propose more efficient solutions to our future customers in the field of safety at workplace, pollution reduction, energy consumption and production improvement.
